Quality Quick Start (2QS)
Call it lean, call it Six Sigma, call it what you want: packaging does not change Quality Principles. 2QS is a program that incorporates the tried and true principles to take your company to even greater levels of productivity, sustainably and quickly. Remember, what is old is new again; the same applies to Quality.
What’s In It For You:
Learn how to eliminate waste in and comprehensively improve your processes for the immediate, short-term,
and long-term time frames. The program will be customized for your facility, to help you get the quick
results that you need, while coaching you to long term gains for the future.
Now’s the Time:
Most organizations wait until they have no choice; when times get tough, they turn with desperation to
the Quality tools, hoping for a quick fix. The time to use those tools is when you are strong, when you
can support the effort. Let’s face it: it’s easier to reach the top of a mountain from half-way up than
from the bottom. Act today to stay strong later!
Here’s the Plan:
2QS works by providing 4 unique modules to your executive management team, your managers, and your staff.
Through immediate project identification generated from the second module, work can immediately begin.
The effort is sustained by continued monthly touchbacks with your staff to get them to a level of readiness
that allows them to run the program, free of outside assistance.
What Makes Us Special:
We are a diverse company with a combined 50+ years of management and work experience in a variety of
industries, including healthcare areas. We are teachers. We are practitioners. We are researchers.
And we know the secret: Quality is not complicated. We want you to know it too!
Quality Quick Start (2QS) Program Outline:
2QS is a training and consulting program structured to your organization. Below you will find an outline
of the program.
The intent of this phase is to establish management’s priorities for the program and introduce participants to the body of knowledge which will facilitate future improvements.
- Day 1 consists of a 2-hour leadership meeting to understand the leadership goals for the organization. This meeting is followed by a one-hour break to allow Healthy Solutions Quality Consulting LLC to incorporate information from the leadership meeting into the curriculum. Curriculum delivery will continue with organizationally identified participants. This delivery will be about four hours long, and provide foundational tools for problem solving and continual improvement. Participants will be left with activities to complete which will allow them to begin evaluating their processes for improvement.
- Day 2 of this week is a coaching session whereby Healthy Solutions staff will meet with the group to discuss the application activities to ensure these activities are resulting in information that can be applied to a practical problem solving and improvement event. Day 2 will conclude with a brief leadership out-brief.
This builds on the Fuel phase by taking the activity outcomes and converting these activities into working problems.
- Day 1 of this phase includes learning how to define the problem and scope, build functioning teams, and gather measurements to analyze the problem.
- Day 2 of this week is again a coaching day where Healthy Solutions will interact with the teams to evaluate the integrity of the measurements and recommend any changes to the measurement collection process.
This week builds on both the Fuel and Ignite Phases by taking the measurement data and analyzing it to determine improvement plans.
- Day 1 consists of Healthy Solutions staff evaluating the data with organizational analysts to determine sources of variation and make analytically based process judgments. Your organization will identify staff who routinely manage data to participate in this day so that organizational learning is expanded, and successfully transferred to the organization for sustainability.
- Day 2 consists of learning how to develop improvement plans in response to the analysis, to include the plan to monitor the improvements for later binding implementation.
- Day 3 consists of coaching for Healthy Solutions staff to evaluate improvement plans and recommend any changes for the plans. After this session, plans should be implemented.
This last week incorporates the information learned from the earlier phases and now works to teach staff how to freeze these improvement efforts into the organization, through such means such as standard work, communication planning, recognition programming, quality oversight, and control charting.
- These concepts are developed to the group in Day 1 of the week.
- Day 2 consists again of coaching, to evaluate what control methods have been identified and implemented for the improvement efforts.
- After the final week, HSQC LLC will conduct monthly tune-ups to ensure the projects stay on track and are moving forward. Additionally, these tune-ups work to further mentor staff so that after the tune-up period, suggested for a 3 month time frame, staff take possession of the body of knowledge, further contributing to your organizational learning.
